Painting a Day Project: #63

This was inspired by a variety of my favourite artists, morphed into my own pink chair coziness on a Sunday afternoon. "Moo", the rather large, fluffy ragdoll fur person gracing the chair was my real life muse this afternoon...he is the newest resident at Suzanne's studio & he is large & in charge...and demanded a cameo. Introducing "Sunday Afternoon", a mix of a colour palette,  images & sweet things that make me happy. 20x 28", acrylic on canvas. xoxo

Painting a Day Project: #62

It's no secret that one of my not so secret goals is to write & illustrate children's books...or big kid books...or just because books that make you smile. So there you have it, cats in pearls, reading in bed, propped up on down pillows, surrounded by paintings & tea cups. Another normal day in Mindy's Imagination of the Weirdly Wonderful. "Bedtime", acrylic on canvas, 9x12". xo

Painting a Day Project: #61

It is autumn in Ashland. Change is in the air, leaves are on the ground, the valley is a sea of orange, red and yellow and coats, winter coats, fur collars a bonus, are suddenly necessary. I am writing these days. And painting...but writing more & deeply appreciating it, loving how hard it is but doing it anyway, loving having finished a timed writing and feeling like I've crossed a finish line. Loving that something profound is telling me painting & writing will go together for me, the results still revealing themselves.

My favourite poet says it better than I ever could.

"I write to find out what I didn't know I knew". Robert Frost

This and a variety of his poems are painted under the blue sky, painted over, re-worked & tucked in tightly for me to draw inspiration from.  As always, trying to let go of results & stay focused on the act of creating with so much love. xo
